POEM: THE HOUR by Olufalade Adesemola Toluwalope
At dawn I was called out
Then I saw the shadow of her
I entered the room and saw them all
It dawned on me the hour has come
The floor was laid and the lamp lit
Rusty blades in local plates
Their wrinkled faces staring at me
Now I know my hour has come
I struggled and fought them
I was overpowered and warned of the doom
Then I prayed for my hour to end
I want this to end.
